Big Wigglers are rare, bigger versions of the Wiggler which appear throughout the Newer Super Mario Bros. series.

Appearance[]

Big Wigglers look identical to the Wiggler aside from their size. They have yellow caterpillar-like bodies composed of four spheres with orange-brown dots on them, each sphere having two orange legs wearing purple shoes. In front of these spheres is their yellow head, sporting a bulbous brown nose, a happy smile, chubby cheeks, and a white flower stemming from their head. Unlike the normal Wigglers, they never appear angry.

Behavior[]

Big Wigglers will walk left and right at a slow to moderate pace, always turning at walls. The player can jump on them to bounce off of them, giving the player loads of height while not hurting the Big Wiggler.

In every game other than Newer Super Mario Bros. DS, Big Wigglers fall off ledges when they reach them. However, in Newer Super Mario Bros. DS, Big Wigglers turn around at ledges like their smaller counterparts.

Big Wigglers are unaffected by Fire Flowers' fireballs, Ice Flowers' and Penguin Suits' iceballs, and Hammer Suits' hammers (aside from in Newer Super Mario Bros. DS, where Hammer Suits' hammers instantly defeat them, akin to the normal Wiggler), and can be defeated using a Super Star or Mega Mushroom.
