Bloopers are rare underwater-themed enemies only seen in Another Super Mario Bros. Wii.
They go largely unused in the other Newer Super Mario Bros. games, presumably due to them being deemed "annoying" by the community and the Newer Team.
Appearance
Bloopers are white squid-like creatures with several tentacles sprouting below and two to the side, sort of acting like arms. They have two staring eyes on a block spot on their face.
Behavior
Bloopers will follow the player in a sort of random fashion, sprouting diagonally up and slowly falling when the player is underneath.
Bloopers can be defeated by Fire Flowers' fireballs and Super Stars. Ice Flowers' and Penguin Suits' iceballs freeze Bloopers, which proceed to float up and get defeated once they hit a ceiling.
Trivia
- In Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii, Bloopers go unused along with Blooper Nannies, Bulbers, King Bills (and their Banzai variants), and Spiny Cheep Cheeps.
- In Newer Super Mario Bros. DS, Bloopers go unused along with Blooper Nannies, Flame Chomps, and Thwomps (technically Big Thwomps go unused too, though they were reskinned into Rainbow Thwomps).
