Boss Keys are special miscellaneous items found throughout the Newer Super Mario Bros. series. They appear after most end-world bosses, allowing access to the next world.
Appearance[]
Boss Keys are large shiny golden keys with horns on their held end.
Behavior[]
In Newer Super Mario Bros. DS Boss Keys will jump out of most end-world bosses on their defeats (excluding Bowser and Dry Bowser), usually landing on the right side of the arena. On touch, the player will be able to open a door to the next room, often revealing Princess Peach being taken to the next world.
In Another Super Mario Bros. Wi and Newer: Summer Sun, the keys will instead float from the roof of a boss arena to a point close to the ground after a Koopaling is defeated
