Powerups are consumable items which give the player special powers in the Newer Super Mario Bros. series. They're commonly found within Question Blocks and Brick Blocks, though they can also be bought, given by Toad Houses, or awarded as a prize for accomplishing a Challenge House, Music House, or Enemy Course.
