Cheep Chomps are rare enemies found throughout the Newer Super Mario Bros. series.
Appearance
Cheep Chomps are round purple fish with white underbellies. They have blue-green dorsal and caudal fins, as well as two white wing-like fins sprouting out their sides. Large pink lips lay under their two white eyes, forever closed in a slightly angry expression. When their mouth is open, one large white tooth is revealed on their upper jaw.
Behavior
Cheep Chomps appear in completely underwater areas. They will slowly follow the player, lunging in for a bite in a straight line once they get close enough. If a player is caught in its mouth at this time, the player is instantly defeated.
Cheep Chomps can be defeated by Fire Flowers' fireballs, Hammer Suits' hammers, Super Stars, and Mega Mushrooms.
