Crystal Sewers is the second world in Newer Super Mario Bros. DS. It is a damp purple cavern full of Warp Pipes. It is represented by a Piranha Plant in a Warp Pipe.

Its tower boss is Bowser Jr. and its airship boss is Mega Goomba.

Overview

Crystal Sewers takes place in a purple cavern underground with crystals and multicolored Warp Pipes heavily inspired by Crystal Caves and partly Soggy Sewers from Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii. Used Blocks, Brick Blocks, and some ? Switches are also scattered across the world. Some blue presumably sewer water flows beside. Crystal Sewers is notable for introducing the Hammer Suit.

Crystal Sewers can only be accessed through completing Leafpile Castle in Goldleaf Plains. Completion of Flameburst Flotilla grants access to Sandy Shore, or Unagi Borough if the player buys a Star Coin Sign, in Dorrie's Island. Completion of Hydroskip Drain's secret exit grants access to World 2-, leading to Snowfield Plateau in Moonview Glacier.

2-2	Pipebreak Cave		It's a tricky rundown Warp Pipe-filled cavern.
2-3	Switching Sewer		A sewer-themed maze-like level focused on switches.
2-A	Hydroskip Drain		An underground Mini Mushroom-themed level focused on the fact that the player can walk on water.
2-4	Wagon Way		The first of two Minecart levels. It takes place in some sort of an abandoned mineshaft.
2-	Fliptube Tower		A sewer-like tower where the walls wrap around the player. Bowser Jr. is fought here.
2-5	Tightrope Ravine		An athletic tightrope-focused level taking place outside the cave.
2-6	Gushing Culvert		An underwater level full of air currents and Cheep Cheeps.
2-	Flameburst Flotilla		An airship over the caverns featuring many Bob-ombs and Bullet Bills. Mega Goomba is fought for the only time here.
