Honeycombs are rare Fences found throughout the Newer Super Mario Bros. series. They're always found in forest-themed levels.
Appearance[]
Honeycombs are yellow-gold shiny honey-filled hexagons with beige rims. They often appear in clumps stuck together.
Function[]
Honeycombs act identically to Fences, but have no gates, so visiting their other side is not possible without hacking. The player can climb on them by pressing the up button while in front of them. This allows them to move freely in all directions as long as they're still on the honeycomb. If the player presses the run button while on a honeycomb, they will do a short attack before climbing across faster.
Climbing Koopa Troopas and their larger counterparts can be found climbing on honeycombs. Using the run button attack while they're on the opposite side from the player will defeat them in addition to simply stomping on their heads.
