Lunar Realm (or World 6) is the only secret world in Newer Super Mario Bros. DS. It can only be unlocked by using World 5-Cannon, and it's heavily based off of Starry Skies from Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii and Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii Plus. The boss of this world is Petey Piranha. This world is represented by the moon over a starry space.

6-A Asteroid Valley AsteroidValley As the name suggests, this is a "valley" full of asteroids with Snailicorns and Spinners
6-2 Mt. Skydrop MtSkydrop The first mountain-themed level of Lunar Realm, making Mario fall all the way from space. This, of course, only leads to Koopa Troopas and Boomerang Bros. that want Mario dead.
6-Towernsmb2 Shockbelt Spire ShockbeltSpire A dark tower filled with Amps and conveyor belts, which, unlike Electron Tower, has space physics.
6-3 Meteor Lane MeteorLane An autoscrolling level which has dangerous meteorites and marks the only appearance of the Kab-omb.
6-4 Napalm Nebula NapalmNebula An asteroid-filled level with many Fire Bars and Space Goombas.
6-5 Runbow Road RunbowRoad A fast-paced, rainbow-filled dash through space, inspired by Rainbow Road from the Mario Kart series of games.
6-6 Sledge Summits SledgeSummits The second and final mountain-themed level of Lunar Realm. This time, though, Sledge Bros. and Blockhoppers will try to stop Mario from continuing on.
6-B Shape Zone ShapeZone An odd zone where floating Shape Blocks are the only reliable platform.
6-7 Freeleap Galaxy FreeleapGalaxy An homage to Space Zone Area 2 from Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, where the player can jump freely where they want while avoiding dangerous Stars.
6-Final Thornspire Doomship ThornspireDoomship A Skewer-filled airship where you must carefully use your space physics to jump over gaps.


  • This world utilizes an unused mechanic from New Super Mario Bros.
    • This space mechanic did not allow wall jumps, which was part of the reason why Skawo decided to make this world secret.
