Micro Goombas (alternatively spelled Micro-Goombas) are smaller versions of the Goomba which appear in Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii and Newer Super Mario Bros. DS.
Appearance[]
Micro Goombas look like half-sized versions of the normal Goomba. While in Newer Super Mario Bros. DS, they are simple smaller sprites with the same animations—Micro Goombas from Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii don't have walking animations. They simply slide across the floor and hop.
Behavior[]
Micro Goombas will slowly walk left and right. When the player has used a Mini Mushroom, Micro Goombas will essentially act like normal Goombas to a normal-sized player. They will defeat the player on touch and can be jumped on to be defeated (unlike every other enemy needing to be ground pounded on). They can be defeated using fireballs, hammers, and Super Stars.
In Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii, Micro Goombas will follow the player, falling off ledges if needed. When the player is normal size, Micro Goombas will latch onto them on touch (unless the player strikes from above, in which the Micro Goomba is defeated), slowing the player down. This also reduces their jump height, although a simple spin jump gets all of the Micro Goombas off, defeating them in the process.
In Newer Super Mario Bros. DS, Micro Goombas will act like normal Goombas, walking in one direction and sticking to it. Any contact with them as a normal-sized player will defeat the Micro Goomba.
