Unsteady Gorge (or World 1-5) is the sixth level of Goldleaf Plains in Newer Super Mario Bros. DS. It's a sky-themed athletic level featuring many Koopa Paratroopas and Unsteady Mushroom Platforms.

Unsteady Gorge is unlocked by completing Wiggler Woods. Completing it will unlock Leafpile Castle.

Star Coins

  • Star Coin 1: Near the start, there'll be a green Warp Pipe hidden at the top of the screen. Use the pink Unsteady Mushroom Platform to enter it. Once inside, get to the end of the area and jump to get the Star Coin.
  • Star Coin 2: Near the middle of the level, this Star Coin will be in plain sight under some Piranha Plants. To get it unharmed, use a Koopa shell from earlier to defeat the Piranha Plants, allowing you to get the Star Coin. Or you could dangerously jump to it from the Unsteady Mushroom Platform.
  • Star Coin 3: After the checkpoint, there'll be a blue Unsteady Mushroom Platform with some Coins over it in the shape of a downward arrow (or V). Stand on this Unsteady Mushroom Platform, and it'll lead you to the third and final Star Coin.

This Marks the debut of the Blue Koopa Troopa and Blue Koopa Paratroopa in Newer Super Mario Bros. DS.
